We cruised the bulk of the San Juan Islands in a day! Man, 17 miles feels like a long distance sometimes. We had great weather today to make it two days in a row without rain. Caught glimpses of both the Olympics and North Cascade Mountains as we paddled, the ranges that make Washington so cool, though I don't think we'll see much of either of them this summer as tomorrow is our last day in Washington. (Mike)Our bodies seem to be getting stronger yet our lower backs and rear ends haven't quite adjusted to the kayak position. There always seem to be many distractions to keep us going such as wildlife, currents, navigation and of course lemon drops! In a couple days we'll be in British Columbia. It already feels like quite a feat to paddle from Seattle to B.C.. (Sonja)
